I have been practicing tai chi, qigong, and sumi for only 7 months, but have noticed my balance and stamina have improved. I am 73. My muscles ache, but I can now practice jhan jhong for 40 minutes daily without feeling forced. Roy is a patient teacher: the more I practice, the more he teaches me. When I ask the right questions he knows I am ready for more. Self motivation is a must for he is not a babysitter for the unmotivated. Larry Doty
Since going to Flowing Motion, first for Tai chi, my mobility has improved. I now take Kung Fu which many of my peers said would be a bad idea, being that I am 63 years old. In short I have better flexibility, ability to ward of colds quickly, work off excess energy which helps me to maintain a more pleasant disposition. Thank You for your help and guidance, Sonja Meadows
As a 73 year old grandmother I only signed up for this “martial arts” class to help my teenagers look good. But I quickly found that Flowing Motion was much more than just self defense (although they do that). It is a safe place for the whole family to build confidence and strength, with an emphasis on harmony, balance and respect. My knees are also in better shape than they’ve been in a while. Ann Kennedy
My goal is to be able to complete a full sit-up and be able to do the Chinese Splits. I’ve been able to lift my lower back up a tad bit more over the course of a month or so. I am also able to stretch my legs out farther and farther each week. My long term goal is to enter the Navy and join the Navy SEALs, to do this I will need to be in tip-top shape and work hard. Training hard everyday will give me the body and mindset I will need to join the Navy. Michael, Web Developer, age 16,
I started training in Tai Chi and Chi Kung about ten years ago. At the time I thought myself a pretty fit guy, however I soon realized just how much room for improvement I had. While the movements of Tai Chi and Chi Kung may seem slow they still provide an intense workout. I remember how much my legs burned after every class. The benefits of Tai Chi and Chi Kung are not only physical. Since I started I noticed that I have a better time focusing my mind through Jhan Jhong and have attained a higher level of awareness. Intuition, reaction time and fluidity of body have all been drastically increased. I highly recommend Tai Chi and Chi Kung to anyone looking to compliment their physical training regiment with a discipline that will improve their mental well being. (Anonymous)
